ENN serves over 200 persons getting COVID-19 vaccines
MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- On Friday, November 11, Equity News Nework (ENN) surpassed the 200 mark in the number of persons its coordinated to get COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots. The 200 vaccinations are a part of a two-year partnership that ENN has with Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) to coordinate with local medical providers to provide COVID-19 health education, vaccination shots, and guide individuals to appropriate wrap-around services.
Todd Michael Barnes, President and Chief Anchor of ENN, said, "I am so proud of our entire ENN team. They have worked their butts off to ensure we are serving the LGBTQ and African American communities in a first-class manner - and they get why the work we're doing is important. I'm really grateful for our partnership with MDH and for the incredible nursing teams that actually put the shots in peoples' arms."
ENN hosts two vaccination events per month, coordinating the efforts between MDH, medical providers, schools, churches, and businesses, to ensure as many LGBTQ and African American persons are vaccinated with the COVID-19 and booster shots as possible. ENN gives each person who receives a $45 Visa gift card as an incentive to help keep themselves and others safer by getting the COVID-19 vaccine and booster shots.
ENN'S next vaccination event is Wednesday, November 23, at Northside Healing Space, 2100 Emerson Avenue North, in Minneapolis. The event is free and open to the public. Each person who receives a COVID-19 vaccine or booster shot will receive a $45 gift card.
